Mairead Cooper

Mairead has worked in the field of veterinary medicine since 2019 and has experience in general practice, surgical referral, rehabilitation, and emergency settings. She graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Northern Virginia Community College and earned her license to practice as an LVT in Virginia in 2021. She is passionate about providing balanced anesthesia, multimodal analgesia, and gold standard nursing care to her surgical patients every step of the way, from intake to recovery and discharge. She values the trust that clients place in her as part of their pet's medical team and approaches every aspect of patient care. She believes that patient advocacy is one of her most important responsibilities as a veterinary technician. She is fear free certified and strives to alleviate or minimize any fear, anxiety, and stress that her patients may feel in veterinary settings, or that may accompany or be exacerbated by painful conditions.

Mairead is from Loudoun County in northern Virginia and moved to the Richmond area with her husband and dog in December 2022. She enjoys drawing, painting, and practicing hula hoop dance flow and aerial silks circus performance art  in her free time.
