    Dr. Kristy Broaddus has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2001, with ACVS board certification in surgery since 2006.

  • Lynn Harpold

    MS, DVM, ACVIM-SAIM

    Dr. Lynn Harpold has been practicing since 1993 with board certification in small animal internal medicine since 1999. She has a masters in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland.

    MS, DVM, ACVIM-SAIM

    Dr. Emily Austin is originally from Baltimore, MD. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Michigan State University.

    Jennie Kastelberg has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) since 2005 and has advanced training in anesthesia.

  • Paige Woodhouse

    Lead LVT - Surgery

    Paige has worked in veterinary medicine since 2006. In 2014, she completed the veterinary technology program at Blue Ridge Community College, becoming a licensed veterinary technician.

    Jordan has been working in the veterinary field since 2016. She started working as an assistant, then went to BRCC and graduated as a LVT in 2019.

    Kristen has been working in the animal care field for over ten years. She graduated from VCU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and found her passion for the veterinary field shortly thereafter.

    Stephanie has been a licensed veterinary technician since 1997. During her career as a technician she has enjoyed working in internal medicine, emergency/critical care, and neurology.

    Kathy has been working in the pet care field since 2008. She has been a veterinary assistant since 2012 and has experience in surgical assisting as well as general practice.

Kristy Broaddus


Founder, DVM, MS, DACVS

Dr. Kristy Broaddus has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2001, with ACVS board certification in surgery since 2006. She has extensive surgical expertise including four additional years of training beyond veterinary school to provide her with advanced small animal surgery skills. Her special interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Along with her specialized training, Dr. Broaddus equally strives to offer compassionate and comforting care to all of her patients.

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Broaddus completed her premedical training at Georgetown University and headed back home to earn her veterinary degree from Michigan State University. She then completed her small animal surgery and medicine internship and residency at Auburn University in Alabama. Dr. Broaddus spent three years as faculty at Oklahoma State University teaching and practicing surgery, and is a national speaker, regularly lecturing and teaching techniques with hands-on laboratory sessions at VMX, the world’s largest veterinary event. She also speaks locally at the Virginia Academy of Small Animal Medicine and the Colonial Veterinary Conference in Williamsburg.

Dr. Broaddus practiced in Richmond for 10 years, and now lives and practices locally in Mechanicsville with her husband, Charlie Broaddus, also a veterinarian and local native whom she met while at Auburn University. The Broaddus family enjoys living on an ever expanding “minifarm” with chickens, sheep and beef cattle. During her spare time, Dr. Broaddus loves hanging out with her husband, three children and family pets— a Bluetick Coonhound, two Chocolate Labradors, two Toy Poodles, a Terrier, and five cats.

Lynn Harpold

MS, DVM, ACVIM-SAIM

Dr. Lynn Harpold has been practicing since 1993 with board certification in small animal internal medicine since 1999. She has a masters in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland. She graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed an internship at Colorado State University and then an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Harpold is a very thorough clinician who routinely utilizes ultrasound and endoscopy to help pets get the best treatments. She treats diseases of the respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, hematologic, and urinary systems.'

Emily Austin

MS, DVM, ACVIM-SAIM

Dr. Emily Austin is originally from Baltimore, MD. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Michigan State University. She completed a rotating small animal internship at Tufts University and a small animal internal medicine residency at Auburn University. While completing her residency, she also obtained a Master of Science. Dr. Austin is interested in all aspects of small animal internal medicine, particularly immune-mediated disease, infectious disease, liver disease, endocrinology, complex multiple disease management, and pain management for geriatric patients. She performs abdominal ultrasound imaging, various endoscopic procedures (including bronchoscopy, esophagoscopy, gastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, cystoscopy, and rhinoscopy), feeding tube placement, bone marrow aspirate/biopsy, and ultrasound-guided aspirates.

Dr. Austin strives for excellence through collaborative patient care with primary care veterinarians, other specialists, and clients. Another one of her primary goals is to foster client education. She enjoys spending time with family (husband and daughter), outdoor activities such as camping and hiking, and painting. She also loves spending time with her pets – a lab mix named Tanner, a GSD named Mudd and 3 cats: Janis Joplin, B.B. King, and Pink
